ABDOMINOPLASTY

ABDOMINOPLASTY
– Classic abdominoplasty
– Mini abdominoplasty

Abdominoplasty (tummy tuck) is an operation performed to restore the aesthetic appearance of the abdomen; it is aimed at eliminating stretched skin, removing postpartum stretch marks, local fat deposits, rough scars on the skin, as well as strengthening the muscles of the anterior abdominal wall and emphasizing the waistline.

It is performed under general anesthesia. The choice of the type of intervention depends on the individual indications and the scope of work.

Mini-abdominoplasty is relevant when there is excess skin without disruption of the muscle frame, stretch marks and aponeurosis, and the "apron" is located below the navel. The surgeon removes excess skin, sutures the diastasis (if necessary). The navel remains in its original place and is not transferred, since the excision is performed below.

Classic abdominoplasty is indicated when the abdominal wall is altered above the navel and a large flap needs to be removed. During the procedure, diastasis of the rectus abdominis muscles is performed, hernias are removed, and weakness of the umbilical ring is eliminated. The navel is moved and reshaped.
The procedure can be combined with liposuction.
