3. You can drink water in the morning on the day of blood sampling for testing;
4. eliminate medication; if it is impossible to cancel medication, the laboratory must be informed about this;
5. It is advisable to take the material before any medical diagnostic manipulations;
When assessing hormone levels in women, it is important to consider the day of the menstrual cycle when it is optimal to determine certain hormones. You can get this information from your doctor.
General clinical urine tests
General rules for preparing for urine collection for research:
– It is recommended to avoid alcohol, spicy and salty foods, and foods that change the color of urine (beets, carrots) on the eve of urine collection;
– Before collecting urine, it is necessary to thoroughly clean the external genitalia. For men, the external genitalia should be cleaned after the foreskin is retracted and the glans penis is exposed;
– women are not recommended to donate during menstruation. Before collecting, it is advisable to insert a gynecological tampon into the vagina;
– in infants – thorough toilet of the external genitalia, it is advisable to collect urine in a urine container. Urine squeezed from a diaper is not subject to examination.
